برای بسیاری از ما، ترانه‌ی Perfect Day از آلبوم سوم کریس دی برگ (At the End of a Perfect Day) یادآور دوره‌ای از زندگی‌مان است که عاشق بوده‌ایم؛ هر قدر هم که ترانه قدیمی باشد. اشعار این آلبوم، علی‌رغم سال انتشار آن (1977) با ترانه‌های دهه‌ی هفتاد تفاوتی عمیق دارند؛ گویی ترانه‌نویسی قرار است بعد از این دچار تحولی بزرگ شود. حالا که به سال‌های بعد از آن نگاه می‌کنیم، ترانه‌های عاشقانه‌ای را می‌شنویم که دیگر میان «من»و«تو»های کلیشه‌ای، روایت داستانی حاکم نیست، و از آن پس اشعار وظیفه دارند حس را منتقل کنند. این دست‌آورد موسیقایی را مدیون جنبش‌های هنریِ عصری هستیم که آلبوم‌های سوم تا پنجم کریس دی برگ از بطن آن بیرون آمدند؛ خواه خودآگاه توسط او و هم‌راهان‌اش طرح‌ریزی شد، خواه هنرمندان دیگرِ آن دوره به این سبک دامن زدند. «روز عالی» را بشنوید و ترانه‌ی آن را در ادامه بخوانید:

The Moody Blues - Legend of a Mind

The Moody Blues یکی از گروه‌های موفق سبک راک پیش‌رونده است که معمولاً، کم‌تر از آن‌ها یاد می‌شود. این گروه در سال 1964 در بیرمنگام انگلستان تشکیل شد و نخستین آلبوم خود را با نام The Magnificent Moodies (بدخلقی‌های باشکوه) در قالب صفحه‌های LP record منتشر کرد. نخست، سبک آن‌ها R&B بود که بعدها به سمت راک منحرف شد. از موفق‌ترین آلبوم‌های آن‌ها، «در جست‌وجوی آکورد گم‌شده» است که رنگ‌وبوی راک روان‌گردان را دارد. ترانه‌ی Legend of a Mind طولانی‌ترین ترانه‌ی این آلبوم است که درباره‌ی روان‌شناس آمریکایی Timothy Leary و طرف‌داری او از داروی روان‌گردان LSD نوشته شد. این ترانه را از این‌جا بشنوید.

The Joe Perry Project - Let the Music Do the Talking

تفاوت عقیده یا سلیقه‌ی فردی در بسیاری از گروه‌های موسیقی - به خصوص راک - وجود داشته و دارد. خیلی از گروه‌ها به سبب همین تفاوت سلیقه از هم پاشیده‌اند یا از دوره‌ی موفقیت‌های خود فاصله گرفته‌اند. این تفاوت اجتناب‌ناپذیر است و نمی‌شود از آن چشم پوشید. Joe Perry - نوازنده‌ی مشهور گیتار - زمانی که در Aerosmith به نواختن Lead مشغول بود، دچار همین اختلاف نظر با سایر اعضای گروه شد. او با ترکِ کوتاه‌مدت گروه، پروژه‌ی موسیقی خودش را به راه انداخت که با عقیده و سلیقه‌ی شخصی پیش می‌رفت.
