Simon & Garfunkel - The Dangling Conversation

It’s a still-life watercolor
Of a now late afternoon
As the sun shines through the curtain lace
And shadows wash the room
And we sit and drink our coffee
Couched in our indifference
Like shells upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar
In the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs
The borders of our lives

And you read your Emily Dickinson
And I my Robert Frost
And we note our places with bookmarkers
That measure what we’ve lost
Like a poem poorly written
We are verses out of rhythm
Couplets out of rhyme
In syncopated time
And the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs
Are the borders of our lives

Yes,we speak of thing that matter
With words that must be said
“Can analysis be worthwhile?”
“Is the theater really dead?”
And how the room is softly faded
And I only kiss your shadow
I cannot feel your hand
You’re a stranger now unto me
Lost in the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs
In the borders of our lives.

See the stars come falling down from the sky,
Gently passing, they kiss your tears when you cry.
See the wind of summer blow your hair upon your head,
See the rain, the falling rain, it's rain.

Still I'm sad.

Oh my flowers, my tears just falling two days,
we are driving the night to find they are lost.
Flower, flower the wind is blowing, time into my heart.
When the wind blows hard, we are apart.

Still I'm sad,
Still I'm sad.

Still I'm sad.

Chris de Burgh - Perfect Day

(At the End of a Perfect Day)

Oh Lord, I'm tired, it's time to go to bed,
Way, after midnight, and the wine's gone to my head,
Lying here upon the shore just listening to the waves,
And it's been a perfect day.

Packed up a picnic and set off for the sea,
Taking all the back roads where no one else would be,
My and you and Paul and Sue
How we laughed the time away,
And we had a perfect day,

I brought along my old guitar
And lying there beneath the stars,
We sang all the Beatle songs we knew,
Lord you should have heard those harmonies
When we did Nowhere Man and Let It Be...

My love, if we should break up,
Should we ever part,
And you're searching for some memory
To help your aching heart,
Forget about the hurtful things
That lovers often say,
And remember this perfect day,

Then people start coming around the fire,
And I was strumming at my old guitar,
Trying to think of something everybody knew,
And then you said, "Though it's far away,
A Christmas song would really make my day,"
And everybody sang...

And all I really want to do'
Is sing songs for you,
Then it's been a perfect day,
Yes it's been a perfect day.

Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode

Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play the guitar just like a ringing a bell

Go go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode

He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineerswould see him sitting in the shade
Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made
People passing by they would stop and say
Oh my that little country boy could play

Go go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode

His mother told him "Someday you will be a man,
And you will be the leader of a big old band.
Many people coming from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun go down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight."

Go go
Go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode

The Moody Blues - Legend of a Mind

Timothy Leary`s dead.
No, no no no, he`s outside, looking in.

Timothy Leary`s dead.
No, no no no, he`s outside, looking in.

He`ll fly his astral plane,
Takes you trips around the bay,
Brings you back the same day.
Timothy Leary.
Timothy Leary.

Timothy Leary`s dead.
No, no no no, he`s outside, looking in.

Timothy Leary`s dead.
No, no no no, he`s outside, looking in.

He`ll fly his astral plane,
Takes you trips around the bay,
Brings you back the same day.
Timothy Leary.
Timothy Leary.

Along the coast you`ll hear them boast
About a light they say that shines so clear.
So raise your glass, we`ll drink a toast
To the little man who sells you thrills along the pier.
He`ll take you up, he`ll bring you down,
He`ll plant your feet back firmly on the ground.
He flies so high, he swoops so low,
He knows exactly which way he`s gonna go.
Timothy Leary.
Timothy Leary.

He`ll take you up, he`ll bring you down,
He`ll plant your feet back on the ground.
He flies so high, he swoops so low.
Timothy Leary.

He`ll fly his astral plane,
He`ll take you trips around the bay,
He`ll bring you back the same day.
Timothy Leary.
Timothy Leary.

[Paul:]
Hey, hey Paula, I wanna marry you
Hey, hey Paula, no one else will ever do
I've waited so long for school to be through
Paula, I can't wait no more for you
My love, my love

[Paula:]
Hey Paul, I've been waiting for you
Hey, hey, hey Paul, I want to marry you too
If you love me true, if you love me still
Our love will always be real
My love, my love

[Both:]
True love means planning a life for two
Being together the whole day through
True love means waiting and hoping that soon
Wishes we've made will come true
My love, my love
